VILLIANS BEWARE!

Look out evildoers; Commando Cody is coming to the rescue. George D. Wallace aka “Commando Cody” will be joining Hollywood Heritage as we salute Republic Studios and the movie serials of the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s. Mr. Wallace played the super hero in the 1952 Republic Studios serial Radar Men From the Moon one of the last serials to be produced for theatrical release. The series would later live on through a television series.

Mr. Wallace has a wide range of extensive acting credits including the role of King Arthur in the National Touring Company of Camelot and the Hopalong Cassidy television series. On Broadway, he starred in New Girl in Town with Gwen Verdon for which he was nominated by the New York Drama Critics as best performer in a Broadway musical. He has also appeared in Pajama Game, the Hal Prince musical Company and was the leading man opposite Mary Martin in Jennie. While doing Summer Stock, he has starred with Ginger Rogers in Unsinkable Molly Brown, Wildcat with Martha Raye, Kiss Me Kate, and Man of LaMancha, among others. On television, he has acted on Hill St. Blues, Remington Steele, Cagney & Lacey, Bob Newhart, and Dallas to name a few. His frequent film appearances have included Towering Inferno, Protocol, Nothing in Common, and Punchline.
