TV’s Deadwood Stars Star for Hollywood Heritage
At the October 2-3 Hollywood
Celebrity and Collector’s Show, three stars of HBO Television’s hit western Deadwood
signed photos for Hollywood Heritage. Arranged through the show’s promoters and
legendary supporters of Hollywood Heritage, Ray and Sharon Courts, the Emmy
Award-winning show drew western fans from throughout the territory. Stars
William Sanderson (also seen as “Sebastian the Toymaker” in Blade Runner),
Paula Malcomson and Dayton Callie took a break from
filming to greet their many fans. Funds raised went to the Hollywood Heritage
Museum, where Hollywood’s first western feature, The
Squaw Man, was filmed 81 years ago for The Jesse Lasky
L. Feature Play Company.
A special thanks to Sharon Sanderson,
who wrangled in costars (including her husband) and made the signing a success;
and to Deadwood’s Consulting Producer A. C. Lyles. A.C. started his
ongoing career at Paramount Studios in 1930, produced many westerns along the
way, and continues to represent Paramount and Hollywood as only a
living legend can.
