Wattles Garden Committee News

The Gardening Committee has been meeting regularly on Saturday mornings to do rose pruning and tidying of the rose beds. It is important, at this time of year, that old growth be removed and canes cut back to promote new growth and abundant bloom.

Anyone interested in learning the gentle art of rose pruning, dead-heading, or just mucking about weeding and raking up debris and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the rose garden on the hillside can join the committee. We start at 8 am on specific Saturdays and work for 2-3 hours, or as much as one's schedule permits. Gardening gloves, sun protection, sturdy clothing and closed shoes are strongly suggested. If you have shears, pruners, loppers–please bring your own tools. Light refreshments are provided. Contact Anne Epstein (818)766-3686 for more information.
