New Books For Library

Former museum docent Allen Ellenberger has donated a large collection of movie related books to our extensive library housed at the Wattles Mansion. Included in the donation were books related to silent stars and the golden age of  Hollywood. These books nicely compliment the rest of our collection. Our most generous benefactor, Albert Rosenfeld, had donated the bulk of the books in our library over 20 years ago.

Mr. Ellenberger is a well-known author of movie related books himself. His previous titles include Ramon Navarro: A Biography of the Silent Film Idol, 1899-1968; With a Filmography, Margaret O’Brien: A Career Chronicle and Biography and Celebrities in Los Angeles Cemeteries: A Directory. His current project is The Valentino Mystique: The Death and Afterlife of the Silent Movie Idol available for Fall 2004. When this book is published we hope to have Allen featured at An Evening @ the Barn for a lecture and book signing, thus giving us another addition to the collection!
