    Finalists of the annual  community engagement program competition open to all and sponsored by the City of Los Angeles, KTLA, Sunset Las Palmas Studios, and L.A .City  Council members Bob Blumenfield and Mitch O’Farrell.  This is the seventh  year NewFilmmakers L.A. (NFMLA) has been programmed in the LAHIFF.    

    Founded in 2007, NFMLA, under the leadership of Executive Director Larry Laboe, has established itself as a strong gathering place for independent cinema with over 120,000 constituents in the Los Angeles community, screening 2500+ films from over 74 countries. In addition to fostering the advancement of new filmmakers and its members in the City, NFMLA is a vital organization with on-going screenings and events through tout the year fulfilling their objective to promote the economic, educational, social, and cultural advancement of filmmaking, arts and culture in the community.   

    Members of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Pedro and Wilmington, South Bay Youth Club,  and I♥Wilmington invited to meet and speak with the filmmakers and learn more about all aspects of producing/directing/managing a film project.
