About the Event

Regular Cinecon attendees know that there is nothing quite like the experience of seeing rare and classic films on a large screen at the Egyptian Theater in the heart of Hollywood. We look forward to putting on our show every year over Labor Day weekend. This year, due to the restrictions caused by the Covid-19 virus, we are unable to hold our annual event in person. We reluctantly have to postpone Cinecon 56 until Labor Day Weekend 2021.

But fear not loyal Cinecon fans. Since we couldn't bear to have a year without a Cinecon we have found a way to hold a virtual show which we are dubbing "Cineconline."

Cineconline will be a three day *live* streaming online edition of the Cinecon Classic Film Festival and it will run Thursday, September 3 through Saturday, September 5 right here on our main page. Cinecon President Stan Taffel and Stu Shostak, of the online interview program Stu's Show, worked together to produce this online extravaganza. The three day program has everything you’ve come to expect from Cinecon: a great mix of sound and silent films and shorts (silents will be accompanied by our musical stalwarts, Jon Mirsalis, Frederick Hodges and Scott Lasky) which includes some rarely seen specialties, 2 films from archival Nitrate material and a Kinecon at Cinecon program that features television firsts of many stars from TV and film plus a special tribute to the late great Carl Reiner. We also have a few surprises in the works that which you'll have to tune in to see.

You can take a look at our film page to find our what we'll be showing and our schedule page to find our when we'll be showing it.

Cinecon is a 501c3 nonprofit concern and we understand the challenging times many are facing, we are hoping that some of our Cinecon friends may be able to provide any financial contribution to our festival. Please click on the "donate" button if you are able to help. The button will take you to a page that only says Hollywood Heritage but rest assured you are on the right page to donate to Cinecon/Hollywood Heritage.
