DeMille's Desk Calendar

Calendars were very important to DeMille. He wrote everything from appointments and phone numbers on it to notations for film ideas. The small wooden desk calendar on his desk dates from around 1927 as it appears in photographs regarding the preparation of "King of Kings" which he made for his own studio, Pathe DeMille. It is seen again on his desk in a "Life" magazine pictorial article of 1948.

In his will, DeMille requested that after his death, the calendar should still be changed daily and that a fresh rose be placed in a vase on the desk.
