About the Event

After more than 65 years of protest, American women still lacked the complete right to vote in 1914. The National American Woman Suffrage Association, led by Ruth Hanna McCormick, produced the feature film YOUR GIRL AND MINE (now lost) to convince Congress to pass enfranchisement for women. Though their effort failed, their landmark work helped forward the cause, with the production of the film as compelling as any movie.
