About the Event
Tucked between the Hollywood Bowl and Franklin Boulevard in the Hollywood Hills sits the cozy and historic Hollywood Heights neighborhood, a place with plenty of old Hollywood and storied homes once inhabited by famous artists of acting, music and writing.
In this guided walking tour, a collaboration between the Hollywood Heights Association and Hollywood Heritage, you will not only learn about the homes and those who lived in them, but also local landmarks, including: The High Tower Elevator, the Samuel Freeman House, the Magic Castle, Yamashiro, the Highland-Camrose Bungalows and more.
We will privately tour the 1929 Hollywood United Methodist Church and the filming areas for Back to the Future, Sister Act and What Price Hollywood? Plus, another neighborhood gem, the 1929 neo-Egyptian  American Legion: Hollywood Post 43.
The Hollywood Heights walking tour will take approximately 3 hours (as it includes the tour of the church and Legion too). Due to some of the steep hills and terrain in the area, this will be a moderate level walk. Please wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, hats, etc. for sun protection and bring water.
The tour will begin at the Hollywood Heritage Museum at 2100 N. Highland Boulevard. There will be plenty of free parking. The tour will conclude at the museum where you can enjoy coffee sampling with Breakfast at Dominque’s with a special guest, Joan Crawford’s grandson, Casey.
There are limited spots on this guided walking tour so book your ticket quickly.
