In honor of the Centenary of Yma Sumac, Hollywood Heritage Museum and Yma-Sumac.com presents a special remastered screening of Paramount Pictures’ SECRET OF THE INCAS starring Charlton Heston and Nicole Maurey and featuring Yma Sumac. The film is believed to be a direct inspiration for the Indiana Jones film franchise.
This is a rare opportunity to see a beautifully remastered print directly from the Paramount Studios vaults. This film has never been available on VHS, DVD or Blu-Ray in the United States!

This ONE DAY ONLY event will feature a display of memorabilia from Yma Sumac’s archives, as well as never before seen images from the film and a Q&A with Damon Devine, friend, formal personal assistant to Yma Sumac and owner of her archives.

Really enjoyed this post about Secret of the Incas. It’s always fascinating to revisit classic films and learn more about their historical and cultural context, especially how they influenced later adventure cinema. The way you’ve preserved and presented film heritage makes the reading experience both nostalgic and educational. I recently came across a similar discussion on a review blog https://www.goprogaragedoorrepair.com/, and it reminded me how valuable it is to keep older cinematic works alive in public memory. Thanks for sharing this engaging piece.

The fact that Secret of the Incas inspired Indiana Jones is such a fascinating tidbit, and it's amazing they screened a remastered print for the Centenary of Yma Sumac! I wish I could have made it to the Hollywood Heritage Museum for this unique event. It makes you think about all the amazing history that needs to be preserved, whether it's classic films or even everyday items that could use a simple fix with something like Mrjoint.
This sounds absolutely incredible! I'm so bummed this was a one-day only event; seeing a remastered print of Secret of the Incas, especially with Yma Sumac, would have been amazing. I really hope someone got some great photos of the memorabilia display – it's always such a pain when I try to share event pictures from my iPhone and need to convert heic to jpg first.
Wow, a remastered print straight from the Paramount vaults that inspired Indiana Jones – that's truly a must-see for any film fan! It's amazing that such a historically significant film is getting this special, one-day-only screening.
